I make mixed-media drawings, prints, and installations about masculinity, myth, and memory. I work with biro, pencil, oil pastel, and paint, often alongside industrial and found materials. The images are densely worked - hatched, layered, and built up mark by mark. Figures recur - soldiers, athletes, lovers, workers, boys - caught between strength and fragility. They inhabit city settings spliced with older architectures: watchtowers, domes, arches. Engines and mechanical cores appear like votive hearts: glowing, smoking, carefully handled. Original music sometimes underlays the work as a low, weather-like hum.

William Lowry is a British artist living in Oxford and London. He graduated with First Class Honours from the Ruskin School of Art, University of Oxford in 2023, and is currently undertaking an MFA at the Slade School of Fine Art, University College London. He has exhibited in Oxford, London, New York, Berlin, and Biella (Italy).
